Women in Struggle

  • Mayday Space 176 Saint Nicholas Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11237 United States (map)

Join us for an evening at May Day Space for a screening of a film about the connections between Palestinian resistance and the abolition movement in New York and across the country.

The screening will take place on September 6th at 7pm at MayDay Space.

This event will not only showcase the film but then be followed by a teach-in and panel with [RAPP’s Director, Jose Saldana, Samidoun member, Leila Boutros, and myself / RAPP Co-founder Laura Whitehorn, Samidoun member, Leila Boutros, and myself / RAPP Co-founder Laura Whitehorn, RAPP Director Jose Saldana, and Samidoun member, Leila Boutros] about the connections between movements and why prisoners are central to the global struggle for liberation. Our hope is the teach-in will not only link these movements historically, but also foster discussions on solidarity, shared tactics, and collective actions towards liberation.

It is important to note that this Screening and Teach-in is also a fundraiser for RAPP and Samidoun. At this moment, we find it so important to name that the landscape for funding criminal justice reform and abolition has become increasingly challenging and unavailable in New York and nationwide, your contributions will help sustain our vital work. While the suggested donation for General Admission is $25, we hope that you can donate a little more for our work.
