I Never Promised You a Jasmine Garden is a short film by Syrian-Canadian filmmaker Teyama Alkamli. It is about Tara, a queer Palestinian woman in her late 20s, attempts to suppress her internal emotional turbulence during a phone call with her best friend Sarab, with whom she is in love.

Screening as part of the Queer Lens: The Ties That Bind program at the Arab Film Festival. Screening online from October 25 - November 3.
