Life Is Beautiful: A Letter to Gaza

  • DCTV's Firehouse Cinema 87 Lafayette Street New York, NY, 10013 United States (map)

Suggested Donation: $5 – $15

Inspired by the solidarity surging through international film festivals and industry award events – this new series, presented by* a powerhouse coalition of cultural partners, is proud to be hosting an NYC sneak preview of Mohamed Jabaly’s award winning film, on the heels of its U.S. premiere at the BlackStar Film Festival.

Experience life through Jabaly’s eyes: Stuck as ‘stateless’ in the Norwegian arctic, only able to connect to his family in Gaza online, he refuses to accept the boundaries imposed by international politics and rigid bureaucracy, instead activating his creativity and the support of friends to fight the system, preserve his Palestinian identity, and against all odds – see the beauty in life’s darkest moments.

Post-screening reception for ticket holders sponsored by Watermelon Pictures.

*Co-presented by AFMI, Film Workers for Palestine, SAG-AFTRA & Sister Guild Members for Ceasefire, The Solidarity Index and DCTV, with Palestine Film Institute and Watermelon Pictures.
